Primarily reading SFF, urban fantasy in particular, I tend towards rereading books I own when stressed or lacking focus, but am open to trying new books in my ever growing "to read" stack...eventually.

I tend towards cozy/comfy/slice of life with diverse representation more and more in recent years and avoid spoilers except to make sure nothing bad happens to characters I care about, animals in particular.

I'm a completionist, reading cover to cover and in order of publication. I adore physical books with their cover art and the smell and feel of the paper, and organizing them on my shelves is one of the most soothing activities.

Beyond books, I am a dog/cat/goat/turkey mom, who enjoys observing nature.

started reading Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey (Dragonriders of Pern (1))

Anne McCaffrey: Dragonflight (Paperback, 1991, Eclipse Books) 4 stars

HOW CAN ONE GIRL SAVE AN ENTIRE WORLD?To the nobles who live in Benden Weyr, …

Currently was in the mood for a reread of the first Dragonriders of Pern book by Anne McCaffrey.

While I'm enjoying it, I always forget how much misogyny is in this world building. Maybe that was typical of feudal fantasy stories, especially given this was written in the sixties, but I find it very tedious now.

I do like her fantasy having the touches of sci-fi that it does particularly the backstory in the prologue and the teleportation.
