I read a mix of non-fiction (history, memoir, archaeology, anthropology, natural history, politics and language) and fiction (mostly historical and contemporary litfic, with a sprinkle of fantasy and suspense).

Sisters' War (2021, Harlequin Enterprises ULC) No rating

Overall, an enjoyable read. I love stories that show war/conflict from different angles, and this one is great because it shows us WWI (on the Allied side) from the POV of two young American women who volunteer to serve in the British Expeditionary Force on the Western Front. At times, the story had a bit of a Lifetime-movie feel to it, but I didn't end up minding too much because it softened the edges of a story that could have been rather gutting given the context.
