A Librarians-and-Necromancy Fantasy with Small Town Charm in a City of the Dead

The others …

Enjoying it so far! The setting is gloomy and the characters are not really "happy". My expectations for that kind of setting lends more towards Addams Family, so even if there are some "spooky-funny" elements, it has quite a more serious tone than I expected. That is not an issue, quite the opposite.

Following Ree, the young daughter of a powerful necromancer and healer on the way to save her new friend is thrilling. There is some hint of romance and I'm not sure how I'll like that. Ree is really relatalable in the sense that she has a strong feeling to belong in her world, while most of the denizens are stepping on her, and believe she indeed does not belong here. It is easy to leave a place that does not want us and we don't want. But what if we grew fond of said place and build ourselves around it?
