I haven't seen the series, but I received this book as a gift. I did enjoy it, and felt like I learned more about Queen Victoria from a British perspective. It was a very glowing book, written from a perspective of someone who clearly deeply admired her. It certainly overlooks many of the harms done throughout the world by the British Empire during this time period (other than acknowledging the mismanagement of the potato blight by England leading to the Irish Potato Famine), but I guess that's not what this book is trying to be, since it focuses on Victoria and Albert's relationship. A bit fluffy perhaps, but also interesting and historical.
