I feel like a better person after reading Bolano. Amulet is not his most perfect work, but the narrator might be the most completely untrustworthy narrator in all fiction . . . whats amazing is you cant help but take her with total seriousness.

Also, taken on its own, I might rate the chapter relating Arturo Belano's rescue of Ernesto San Epifano among the very best short stories of all time.
