Not great. Very 'old man yells at cloud' without the old man, or the cloud. I like the premise and the idea of ritual having been subsumed by technology and gratification... but there's some stuff in here that just strikes me as wrong-headed and poorly articulated.

Still not sure how I feel about this one. I like the format, but I really want to know what's happening /in between/ the books. Playing catch-up does make me think about the story more, but I tend to engage with my own meta-narrative and then have to re-think things when more information comes along to incorrect me.

Just theses, no answers, no in depth research or praxis. I think it's an attempt to get people to think for themselves directed at people who already tend to do so. Not really memorable.

Gonna be honest, I do skip things like a "Dramatis Personae" and pronunciation guides. I like the way my brain pronounces things just fine :-P Still a good series though!

If you want to sit back and relax with lesbian space necromancers this is for you! Queer characters not done as a trope or a spectacle. The book might be a bit gory for some because you know... necromancers. But it's otherwise not so spicy that people raise their eyebrows if you read it in public.

What it says on the tin. Just the theses. It's not offering solutions or even study, rather some things to think about in relation to the struggle.
