It's not good, I'll give it that.

This book has been buried. It's not in any ISBN databases, it's not for sale online literally anywhere. The author mentions it in her Amazon bio under the wrong title. I can see why. I entered the data for this into Bookwyrm based on the physical copy I have. And the actual publishing date isn't listed. I took a best guess at what '06_11' could mean next to the printed in China label. The book claims it wasn't authorized by Nintendo or the Nintendo DS itself, for gods sake. Trying to make it the size and shape of a DS Lite was a cute idea, but it means it only covers 9 games. And none of them for that long. The games, as presented in the table of contents, are "New Super Mario Bros." "Cooking Mama" "LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4" "Mario Kart" "Super Scribblenauts" "Professor Layton and the Unwound …

If you get it from a library it's alright

First off, I wouldn't recommend spending the $59.99 MSRP on this book. But if you see it at your local library like I did, it can be worth checking out. A significant amount of the 269 page count is, admittedly nice looking, photos. So there's less informative writing here then I would have liked. Although it credits two authors, the book is majorly written by a professional wedding photographer named Jonathan Canlas. Film is an expensive hobby, sure, but Jonathan is definitely in a different tier than I am. His daily driver camera is a nearly $3k medium format monster called a Contax 645. And I definitely don't have the money for that, lol. He definitely gives some interesting tips about photography, but I doubt I'll ever be able to comfortably drop the money needed to replicate his gear loadout.

Review of 'Minecraft' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

The book tells a compelling narrative of a person suddenly appearing in the World of Minecraft. Although a bit outdated, as the book takes place in version 1.8-1.9 of the game, it’s still a fascinating tale that shows what the game is like on truly blind playthoughs, a rare thing given how ubiquitous the game and information about it is.
