The Subtle Art of Not Giving a -

Never having read nor had any interest in self-help books, I found this to be a surprisingly enjoyable read. My children all enjoyed it as well and have recommended it to many of their friends. I believe it's one that every child should read before they leave the nest.

I like some of the things he says about improving mental health by not judging by others and not always having to be the best and appreciating what you have. But I can't help feeling that "Not Giving a Fuck" is a very privileged position to be in. Those who are disadvantaged by circumstance or discrimination may not have the luxury of this position.

I think if I was 10-20 years younger, I think I would have enjoyed this more. There was nothing overly profound, but there were some new nuggets of wisdom that I was able to take away from this. For anyone just getting into the self-help genre, this would likely be a decent start.

বইটা ভালো লেগেছে (রেটিঙেই প্রমাণ)। লেখক খানিকটা আমার 'মেলায় হারিয়ে যাওয়া জমজ ভাই' এর মত। ক্রমাগত আত্মরতির ওপর দাঁড়ানো বর্তমান সমাজের প্রচলিত সব মোটিভেশন নিয়ে সবসময়ই স্কেপটিক ছিলাম। শুধু এই লোকটার মত ভালো গালাগালি করতে পারি না, এই যা!

Not enough interesting, funny, or insightful material. Feels padded, and the title phrase gets old fast.

Definitely written by and for straight, white, entitled males. I have no fucks to give for this book or the author.

Another nice book about defining your priorities and what you want and expect from life. This one forces you to look at things in an objective way and to define real, tangible values for yourself, on which you can work on, and not some material success or keeping on comparing to others. This book made me laugh quite a lot of time, as it's written in a blunt way and doesn't cut around the edges, but god did it felt good.
