Review of 'Deadpool by Daniel Way Vol. 2' on 'Goodreads'

Deadpool got me back into reading comics. This is so incredibly entertaining. The more I read, the more I feel that Ryan Reynolds really nailed the character's dialogue and personality.

This was a really, really enjoyable book. It provides a great look at the rivalry between Marvel and DC throughout the years. I haven't looked forward to picking up a book each night in a long time, so this book was just what I needed.

I had no idea who this character was until I saw her in the videogame Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2. I thought that she was incredibly annoying and I had absolutely no interest in learning any more about her. But one of my kids saw Gwenpool (and Spider-Gwen... no relation, though, as we've learned!) and was very interested. So I grabbed both books from the library. I got about four pages in and fell in love with the book and the character. I'm quite surprised!! I love the Deadpool-style breaking of the fourth wall, and love that the whole concept is based on the main character literally breaking through that wall (and getting stuck). Marvel is really going out on a limb with some of these new ideas, it seems, and I'm very glad that I've started reading comics again.

I bought this straight from Tom Fowler at a Comic Con. This is the only graphic novel that I've read multiple times - and I've read through this one three or four times now. It's very entertaining. Volume 2 isn't hardly as strong, though.

I haven't been following comics for quite some time, but I'm very glad to have gotten back into things a bit. I really enjoyed this alternate history of the Spiderman legend. It was interesting to see some of the faces (I won't mention any names, it'll spoil things!) and how they've changed from the other timeline. The art for me was either very impressive or slightly confusing, switching back and forth between the two. Overall, though, I really enjoyed it and will definitely check out more.
