Here is another book by a member of the famous Bronte sisters. If you have read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronté (also published in this series) you will want to read her sister's masterpiece; but even if you have not read Jane Eyre you cannot help enjoy- ing the story of Mr. Heathcliff, Hare- ton Earnshaw the young man he has ruined and, of course, Nelly Dean and many other fascinating characters.

Wuthering Heights is the name of Mr. Heathcliff's house and strange things go on there. Hardly a chapter of this famous book, first published under the name of Currer Bell, the name originally used by Charlotte Bronte, does not contain its dramatic surprises. Poor Emile, she died quite young, wrote no more than this one novel but, when you have finished reading it, you must agree that she did not live in vain.
