"Richard Mayhew is an ordinary young man with an ordinary life and a good heart. His world is changed forever when he stops to help a girl he finds bleeding on a London sidewalk. This small kindness propels him into a dark world he never dreamed existed. He must learn to survive in London Below, in a world of perpetual shadows and darkness, filled with monsters and saints, murderers and angels. He must survive if he is ever to return to the London that he knew."

Review of 'Neverwhere' on 'Goodreads'

Excellent dramatization. At first I was put off by the fact that there was no direction. Characters just did and you would things happen. After a while I was just able to see the action and the actors, wonderfully, emoted each scene. I love this book and this 6 part drama was the highlight. Anthony Head as Mr. Group (not sure of spelling) was nothing short of spectacular! Took me forever to realize who Benedict Cumberpatch's character was. And James McAvoy, and Natalie Dormer my hats off to both of these brilliant actors. McAvoy will forever be Richard Mayhew, and the same for Dormer. There couldn't be a more beautifully sounding Lady Door.

The best tidbits is waiting for the small bit characters that Neil Gaiman played. This really made me want to listen to more books.
