Glad I decided to reread this. It was first read to me by my 5th/6th grade teacher. I enjoyed it then but didn't remember much about it. I can see why it's proven to be a classic. Not sure yet if I like it enough to read others in the series.

This didn't hold up for me, compared to my childhood experience reading it. Now, I'd probably rate it slightly below 3. The version to which I listened was narrated by the author (not a positive, in this case).

It's a dangerous thing to revisit the stories you loved as a child, and I worried about this book. I hadn't read it since I was a teen, and my memories of it were fond but vague. What if it wasn't as good as I remembered?

It wasn't, but it also was.

I listened to the audiobook, read by the author herself, and while it's a treat to hear Madeleine L'Engle, her speaking voice was more of a struggle than I'd imagined. Her depictions of American children feels much more dated even than when I first read them in the '90s. That said, the story's still fun, and the nostalgia's still strong, and I enjoyed it.

Review of 'A Wrinkle in Time' on 'Storygraph'

When I was young, I first read this book knowing that I'd appreciate and understand it more when I got older. Now, not only does it make complete sense, but it's even more gripping to me than ever before.
